How much notice do you need for the booking?

You can book for same day service if you like. However, the more notice time you give us the more likely you could pick the best time that suite you needs. One week notice is standard.

How do we calculate the time?

The time starts calculating when the truck arrived at your pick-up address and the driver will provide you with a customer contract and put down the starting time with you. After that, the time will keep calculating until everything has been put to your desired spots in your new home. (driving time between two addresses will be included).

How long will the move normally take?

This depends on a number of factors which include, the nature and number of the items you have, the access (eg stairs or lift) at either end of the move and how close we can park the truck to your front door, etc.

For a rough guide:

  • Studio or no furniture: 1 to 1.5 hours
  • One bedroom: 2 to 3 hours
  • Two bedrooms: 3 to 4 hours
  • Three to Four bedrooms: 5 to 6 hours

When and how do I pay?

You can pay by cash or bank transfer(adjustment fee will apply). All payments must be made immediately at the completion of each removals job

Why does THUNDERMOVE charge by the hourly rate?

Charging by the hourly rate results in a cheaper price. Sales people from other companies calculate a fixed price based on the estimated MAXIMUM time each part of your move will take. They always allow for additional time, so fixed prices are costed to the maximum time your move may take.

Does THUNDERMOVE have insurance?

We have Public Liability Insurance for pick up and drop off properties.

In relation to the items we are transporting we offer basic insurance to cover goods up to 20% of the total cost of moving, maximum $200 .

Full Insurance: we charge $100 per job for full-cover insurance as requested. With full-cover, all the damages will be covered by Thundermove.(For more detailed information about full insurance please contact our customer service team).

To be covered by our insurance the items must be:

  • Packed and wrapped by our removalists only.
  • Items transported and removed by our removalists only.
  • Items do not have any existing damage.
  • You must notify us of any damage before job completion.
